 Pattern and Passion Exhibit 2012
“This is a Quilt!”, a travelling exhibit from Studio Art Quilt Associates, begins February
11, 2012, at the Stratford Perth Museum. An exhibit of spectacular contemporary,
miniature art quilts, “This is a Quilt!” showcases the diverse talents and styles of more
than 40 different contributing artists, and broadens the idea of what a quilt is and how it
is made.
These extraordinary pieces will be complimented by a selection of traditional heritage
quilts from the museum’s own collection.
The show is a powerful opportunity for visitors to view and make a personal connection
with the patterns and passion expressed in quilts made as early as the 1800s and as
recently as 2011 by artists using a wide variety of styles, techniques, and fibers. If you
love folk art, textiles and craftsmanship, this is the show for you.
